Taką – bardzo poważną – para-masonerią jest „Opus Dei”. Cele ma od masonerii odmienne – metody: bardzo podobne. Bardzo wiele działań „Operis Dei” jest bardzo sensownych (np. sieć szkół podstawowych – dysedukacyjnych, oczywiście!). Mniej poważną odpowiedzią Kościoła na masonerię są „Rycerze Kolumba” (którzy pojawili się niedawno iwPolsce). Odpowiedni dowcip (stary…): „Odbył się mecz piłkarski między drużynami Wielkiej Loży Masońskiej a Rycerzami Kolumba. Wynik, oczywiście, jest tajny…”. Od pół roku mamy też w Polsce inną masonerię – tylko nie katolicką, ażydowską. Odrodziła się Loża Polin słynnej „B’nai B’rith”, czyli „Zakonu Synów Przymierza”. Przedwojną była całkiem sporą i poważną organizacją. Należeli do niej wielcy kupcy, finansiści, uczeni. Prowadzili rozległą działalność charytatywną – pomagając, oczywiście, tylko Żydom.
